On October 1, 2017, tragedy struck
The Route 91 county music festival in
Las Vegas, Nevada. 58 people lost
their lives, hundreds were injured and
thousands impacted.
The Beginning
Connie and Shawna met in
November of 2017, in Las Vegas and
again that year in California. They
both had a desire to bring the
community together and provide
safe gatherings for those that had
been affected by Route 91.
Remembrance Events
Connie and Shawna planned events
in their home towns and decided to
join forces bringing over 4000
people together in remembrance in
October 2018. They have continued
to organize an annual remembrance
event along with other meet ups and
events.
After four years they discovered it
was time to create The Country
Strong Project to support their
ongoing efforts to bring people together for healing.
The Country Strong Project
seeks to provide ongoing
support and healing, to those
affected by mass violence, by
providing and coordinating
safe places to come together.
- We inspire healing
through togetherness and
music.
- We strengthen our
communities by promoting
safe places to gather that
promote support and
understanding.
